Did you know that as Christians, we have all been invited to live in God's supernatural power and energy? Did you realize that you don't have to live life on your own strength and power, but you can rest and rely on God's power to fill you up instead?
I don't know about you, but I've spent way too much time walking in my own strength and power. I am a pretty self reliant person, and I have a very strong work ethic, and though this can be a really good thing at time, it can also be pretty detrimental when it comes to my spiritual life. For according to Scripture, God wants to live through me and empower me to carry out His will DAILY in my life. But so often times, I don't allow him to do that because I am too busy trying to do life in my own power and strength.
My goal for the next seven days is to stop striving so hard to get everything done on my to-do list, and to rest in God's strength and power instead. Not only will this help me to not to burn out and not to get sick and tired of being busy, but it will also allow me to find great joy and pleasure - even in the mundane activities and tasks of everyday life.
What a comfort it is to know that when my strength and ability ends, God's strength is right there waiting to take over. Lord Jesus, come and fill me with Your power, for I need Your help in my life today. Fill me, and fill my friends with your amazing , never-ending love and power. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
